Language Arts

Phonics: Vowel Review
Challenge Words (Review):
napkin, notepad, rotten, picnic, seaweed, puppet, rabbit, beehive, helmet, plastic, mealtime, contest, fabric, teapot, classmate, peanut, mistake, subject, homemade
High-Frequency Words (Review): already, prove, sign, police, eight, covered, everything, through, woods, guess, different, children, short, ears, finally, hundred, sugar, bicycle, special, sometimes, exercise
Comprehension Focus (Review): Characters, Using Graphic Organizers, Main Idea and Details, & Answering Questions
Robust Vocabulary and Student-Friendly Explanations:

flutters - If something flies or moves in a light and quick way, it flutters.


selected - If you have chosen a particular thing, you have selected it.


announcement - When someone gives new information to a group of people, that person has made an announcement.

career - A career is a job for which someone might get training or go to school.

penalty - When someone gets a punishment for doing something wrong, the punishment can be called a penalty.


location - A location is a place.

excitable - If people or animals can get worked up easily, they are excitable.

positive - When you are very sure about something, you are positive.

* The students will have assessments at the end of the week covering the challenge, robust, and high-frequency words. Please practice these daily with your kids!
