Week of November 11th

Here is what is going on this week!

Language Arts

We are reviewing the skills that we have learned so far. We are also focusing on answering questions following a reading selection!
  • Comprehension Focus: Review
  • Making Prediction
  • Using Prior Knowledge
  • Plot
  • Using Story Structure

Spelling and Challenge Words: when, what, who, finally, because, where, come, went, said, why, understand, knee, sometimes, million, impossible

High-Frequency Words Review: brother, coming, understand, brought, learn, enough, early

Robust Vocabulary and Student-Friendly Explanations:

spectator – When you go to watch a game or show, you are a spectator.

competitive – When you are competitive, you try hard to win or to be the best.

jubilant – When you feel joyful and happy, you are jubilant.

feud – If you have a feud with someone, you have a big argument.

refuse – If you refuse something, you don’t want it.

request – When you request something, you ask for it.

improve – When you make something better, you improve it.

agile – If you are agile, you can move quickly and easily.

drench – When you completely soak something, you drench it.

romp – When you romp, you move around playfully.
