Week of February 16th

Here is what is going on this week!

Language Arts
  • Comprehension: Locating Information, Using Reference Resources
  • Phonics: r-controlled vowel
  • Syllable Pattern VC/V
  • Grammar: words that compare

Spelling Words: becoming, dawdled, swimming, borrowed, feeding, tripped, cleaning, printed, wrapped, steering, reading, yawning

Bonus Words: eight, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, eighteen, nineteen

Robust Vocabulary and Student-Friendly Explanations:
brew - When you brew a drink such as iced tea, you make it yourself by pouring very hot water over the tea and then cooling it.
snug - I a piece of clothing has a snug fit, it fits close to you.
innovation - When someone thinks of a new idea or product that solves a problem, the new idea or product is an innovation.
edible - If something is edible, you can eat it.
supplies - Supplies are the materials and equipment needed to do a job.
crop - A large planting of one kind of plant is a crop.
provide - When you provide something, you give it to someone.
earn - When you earn, you get money or some other kind of reward for doing something.
committee - When you are on a committee, you work with a group of people on a project or for a special reason.
experiment - A test to try out an idea or to find out if something is true is an experiment.
