Good afternoon! What a great week we are kicking off here at Shorecrest. This morning we had a wonderful gathering as a school community. We took time to reflect on Mrs. Weinman and the legacy she left. We dedicated the playground to her. The weather was perfect. Thank you for sending your children with beautiful flowers. We even released some butterflies! Later in the morning we planted flowers in the garden. If you get a chance to stop by and see the garden, please do so. It is beautiful.

On a personal note, this week I hit my 8th month of pregnancy AND we get to celebrate Finley's 2nd birthday on FRIDAY! I am so very blessed and excited. Thank you for all of your support this year.

This week we wrap up our All About Books in writing and continue researching for our Biography projects. The students began researching Friday and had a lot of fun! This will definitely be a project share you will not want to miss! Details will come in the next couple of weeks as to when we will be done with the projects.

Relay for Life is next Friday, April 5.

Celebrate the Arts is the week of April 15-19.  On April 19 we invite you to the children's Celebrate the Arts performance at 11:00AM. This share will be followed by a picnic lunch with your child. (LUNCH ORDER FORMS ARE GOING HOME TODAY.) The children are expected to sit down and eat lunch. They will have recess at another time during the day. Please don't let your child run around or play on the playground.

On Sunday, April 28, we are asking for volunteers from the Shorecrest community to help pack food bags in the new Athletic Center. The event is called Feeding Children Everywhere. It starts at 9AM and ends at 2PM. I hope to see you there. It is another way we can come together to make a difference in the lives of children.
