Exciting stuff coming up!

I hope you received your kiddo's invitation on Friday and can join us this Wednesday at 8:20(ish) to view our African Animal Projects! You will be amazed by the work the kiddos have done. They have researched, planned, and created. They are so proud of their work and so am I. This has been a wonderful experience. We look forward to sharing it with all of you.

Electronic Portfolio Share
Monday, May 7th from 2 - 2:45. Your child will be sharing with you his/her electronic portfolio. This showcases a lot of the amazing work your child has done this year. They will even receive a copy of it at the end of the year! You will not want to miss this.

Caterpillars
We came back this morning to 15 caterpillars tucked away into chrysalises!  The kids are so very excited.  We transplanted them from the students' individual containers to a class "cage" where we will hopefully watch them emerge into butterflies here in the near future.  Friday was an exciting day as we had the amazing opportunity to witness one of the caterpillars transform into a chrysalis right in front of our eyes.  This was my first time witnessing it and it was amazing. I cannot even put into words what we witnessed.  It was simply magic!  We all just sat there and stared at each other we were so excited.

Field Trip
We had a wonderful time on our field trip. The students were so very well behaved and genuinely enjoyed learning all about Egypt.  I hope you were able to hear all about it and even got a chance to read their reflection.  Hopefully you will get a chance to use the free family pass they brought home to visit the museum at a later date.  There was so much we did not get to see that I know they will enjoy.

Our next and last field trip will be on May 10th.  We will be going to MOSI.  Please let me know if you plan on attending.  You are welcome to follow the bus or meet us there.  We are hoping to break the kiddos into smaller groups, so that more parents the better!

Please continue to keep up the 20 minutes of reading a night with your child, making sure to sign their homework sheets.  I still am not receiving Reading Logs from every child.  This will be reflected on your child's homework grade.  Let's finish the year strong!  Have a great week!
