Week of March 4

Can you believe this is the last week before Spring Break? AND it is a 4 day week for the kiddos! We will not have spelling or vocabulary words this week. We are working hard in our nonfiction unit of reading and writing. The kids have LOVED getting to investigate the features of nonfiction texts. They have been reading nonfiction and are beginning to write a nonfiction "All About" book. I am so very proud of their work so far. When we return from Spring Break the students will start an in class biography project. The students have already chosen who they want to research. This is such a fun project!

Important Information:

• Field Day is Thursday! Please make sure your child comes dress in a shirt that is the appropriate color of their team. I letter came home last week that had information and their shirt color. Check your child's folder if you have not seen the letter!
• No School Friday
• Monday, the 18th, begins Reading Week here at school. To kick of the week, the students are to come to school dressed as their favorite storybook character. They need to also bring the book with them. Please be creative. You DO NOT need to go out and buy a costume for this. Your child still needs to have appropriate shoes for PE.

Please make sure your child is reading nightly and that you are signing their homework sheet. If the spelling activity does not require anything written, please make sure you sign off that your child did it. Have a great week!
