Are you seeing pink? I am! Valentine's Day is tomorrow and I just love seeing the kids excitement when they share their valentine's and shower each other with "love"!
Thank you for taking the time to meet with me on Conference Day. I am so grateful for such wonderful families. I love spending my days with your children as well as getting the opportunities to build relationships with you guys. Thanks for letting me brag about them! Keep up the good work at home. We are on our way to becoming third graders.Thank you, as well, for joining us for our Writing Celebration today. As always, the kids make me so proud and they loved sharing their work with all of you! We have a lot going on this week. Please take note of the following reminders:
- Valentine's Day: Students may wear "valentine" colored tops on Tuesday, but they must wear uniform bottoms. So fun! They bring in valentines. We have 16 kiddos in our class. We will not be having a formal party, but will be doing some activities. Please have your child bring in a bag of some sort (like a gift bag or large Ziploc) to hold their valentines from one another.
- Relay for Life Cookout is this Wednesday the 15th. Sage will not be preparing lunch. Your child will either have to purchase a hot dog lunch or bring their own from home. Feel free to join us! Wednesday is also Purple Day. Please encourage your child to wear a purple shirt with their uniform bottoms.
- We are in need of 2-liter bottles. If you could please start sending some in that would be great. We need one per child (clean with no labels). Thank you in advance!
The students have chosen who they would like to research and the fun is about to begin! Today your child will bring home a graphic organizer that they are to use to help them focus their research. Many of them already have books. Some of them do not and I know I mentioned this to you during conferences. The students have until next Monday to complete the graphic organizer. They may need some help reading the texts and looking for information. Next week, the kids will focus on answering 5 essential questions and will begin to put together their projects. I will let you know in the next couple of weeks when the students will be ready to present.
