Last week in Reading Workshop we continued to talk about making connections with our books. We learned that when we get to a part in our book that makes us think "uh oh" - we should mark that with a sticky note. We are shifting our learning this week to Poetry in Reading and Writing workshops. We will, however, continue to talk about and practice all of the good things that readers do.
In Science this week we are continuing our work on mixing different combinations. In Social Studies we have moved on to Antarctica. Mrs. O'Mullane has a friend who is currently in Antarctica. We have been following her blog (http://ameliashevenell.wordpress.com/) and have even been able to ask her questions! This is an exciting experience for us. We look forward to learning more from her and hopefully we will be able to visit with her at some point.
Today in Math, we finished our last lesson in Unit 2 Shortcuts for "Harder" Subtraction Facts. The students will take their Unit 2 Assessment tomorrow. Please remember to sign and send back their math assessment when it comes home. Please keep working on those addition and subtraction facts!
